Maev’s story begins in 2018 when Katie Spies, Founder and CEO, was living with her newly-adopted Italian Greyhound, George. Soon after the adoption took place, Katie realized that George needed extra attention and care due to his unexplainable health issues which included seizures and digestive issues. With a background in engineering, every decision in Katie’s life was intentionally designed – including those that pertained to George.

On a mission to help him live a long and happy life, Katie turned to a raw food diet in an attempt to resolve George’s health and began making her own homemade recipe using ingredients she had full confidence in. In a week’s time, George’s health began to drastically improve and Katie realized that there was something special in what she was doing. http://www.meetmaev.com/

At this same time, Katie was working full-time as a dog walker where she met other pets and pet owners that shared similar experiences to George. She noticed there was a need within the pet community that wasn’t being met, so she set out to build something bold, transparent, and trustworthy. http://www.meetmaev.com/

After a few years spent attending business school, perfecting her own recipe, and researching alongside esteemed veterinary nutritionists and food scientists, Maev publicly launched in 2020. http://www.meetmaev.com/
