If you need to use ChatGPT on an ongoing basis, you will find that OpenAI has introduced a desktop app. The desktop provides a faster approach to accessing ChatGPT than using a browser and logging in every time.
After using it for a while, I’ve discovered a few choices and shortcuts that can help simplify my troubleshooting.
Here is a summary of what I found useful. Then, first of all, some initial concepts in line with my love.
At the moment, the ChatGPT app is only available to Mac consumers. OpenAI said that {{a Windows Home style is expected to be introduced later this year.
If you happen to use a Mac, it isRequires macOS 14+ and Apple Silicon (M1 or newer) to work. Unfortunately, if you’re still using an Intel-based Mac, the app won’t work.
Once installed, the app allows you to easily access ChatGPT from your desktop, even if you are not in the active window.
For example, when you are browsing and need to try something, pressing Selection + Space will open a cluttered chat bar with information at your fingertips for quick use. I’ll go over the additional shortcuts below.
One feature that stands out is the ability to view previous conversations, which is not available in the full browser version.
Instead of scrolling through old chats, you can sort by keyword and quickly find previous conversations, saving you time.
Every single productivity feature lets you take screenshots instantly from within the app.
In all browser style, you should take a screenshot, then manually upload the document. With the desktop app, press Selection + Spacemake a choice Take a screenshotand make a choice from your energy window or from the entire desktop. No need to go through the supply window.
The desktop app also lets you upload files, start short conversations, or switch templates, much like the browser version, so we won’t go into that here.
Here is a list of shortcuts I have noticed in the past:
